Book Giveaway Event

Stories Through the Ages organized and sponsored a youth summer book giveaway event with Sander's Hand, a Houston-based nonprofit focused on empowering young individuals. We donated 500 books to more than 100 youth coming from diverse backgrounds across the city of Houston. The event was held at Underground HTX, an event space in West Houston. Other community groups in the Houston area, such as the Young Men Succesfully Steppin (YMSS) and Gee Boys, also performed at the event for live entertainment. Food was sponsored by Little Caesar's Pizza.

Book Drives

Stories Through the Ages organized book drives in schools to build libraries at elementary schools with a low median socioeconomic status. We have organized and run successful book drives at DeBakey High School for Health Professions through the DeBakey HOSA Chapter and at Clements High School through the Clements Student Council. We also ran book drives at The Woodlands High School through the National English Honor Society and at Carnegie Vanguard High School.

To date, we have collected more than 4000 books from K-8 levels for donation. We have donated 500 books to the J.C. Mitchell Elementary School library, 200 books to the Odom Elementary School library and other locations in the Greater Houston Area. Please contact Stories Through the Ages if you would like to receive book donations for your library or if you would like to organize a book drive at your school.
